More Info

It's a little crazy. This dry Riesling comes from one of Pfalz's most historic estates, one that operates at the same standard of biodynamics as DRC and Leflaive, and it costs under $30. Dr. Bürklin-Wolf has a 400-year history and in that time has acquired some of the best vines in the region. Today, it's run by Bettina Bürklin-von Guradze, who took over from her father in the 1990s. Her single-vineyard, Grand and Premier Cru wines are lustworthy — and if you ever see them, pull the trigger without hesitation. But this entry-level bottling from a handful of vineyards is a stellar gateway into this historic estate. It's elegant and aromatic with aromas of ripe tropical fruits and fresh squeezed lemon. Its lengthy finish way outpaces its price tag — you get more than what you pay for.
