Phelan Farms Mencia 2022

This Mencia from Raj Parr's farm in the misty hills of Cambria, California, is green and herbaceous with silky, well-integrated tannins. The whole cluster fermentation gives gorgeous fruit notes of pomegranate and blackberry, and elevage in neutral oak adds a bit of baking spice.

This would be delicious with Spanish-inspired dishes featuring rich chorizo, a comforting paella, or flavorful hard goat cheeses.
